Kathryn Rodgers

Kathryn is an amazing fashion illustrator! My friend has recommended me to have a look at her blog and I simply fell in love with her drawings! I love the style and the technique and I love her recent idea of using glitter to add texture to her illustrations and make them almost three-dimensional.

I love the fact that she doesn't have a professional artistic education  and is a self taught illustrator, just like me. It means that I am not the only one and it is quite possible to reach this level of excellence without a specialised education.

I also love the way she talks about art and design in her interview here. I can sign under each word because it is exactly how I feel. I am extremely passionate about ALL forms of art and design. Almost EVERYTHING beautiful makes my palms sweat and my heart beat faster. I can find inspiration in anything and I get extremely excited about it all. It can be a beautiful parten, or a picture book, or a painting in a gallery, or a photograph, or a card, or even an advert in a magazine. If it is beautiful and right - I get excited like a child in a candy shop! This is the way I felt when I found Kathryn's blog. I went through it from start to finish and saved a lot of her illustrations for my personal image library.
