Experimenting

As always, I am trying different styles and approaches... I am trying to loosen up a bit. This is my biggest problem when I am drawing - I overdo it sometimes. Not that it is wrong, but I wanted to  simplify my illustrations as much as I can. I think it is quite tricky to create something simple but expressive and appealing...

So, I am developing a new line of very basic cards, and here is what I came up with:


Well, this is as simple as it gets for me so far....

    Great illustrations, do you sell your cards at all? They're wonderful!
    I seem go for heaps of detail myself, especially in my acrylic work - I've recently started painting in watercolour again and I'm quite surprised by how 'fluid' I can be with it - I really like the simple, and very imperfect finish Im getting (as in that you can see pencil lines, and sometimes the paint goes over the edges - for a perfectionist like me, thats a bit of a major breakthrough!! lol)

    I hopy I will be selling my cards soon. At the moment I am just working on a decent portfolio and generating 25 ideas a day! Oh, and I LOVE watercolour!!! The problem is - I am rubbish at it:) I probably need to learn how to use it properly first:))))
